Culture Week

Despite the freezing weather outside, the atmosphere inside Edmonton Christian West School was vibrant with excitement during their annual Culture Week, held from January 15 to 19. The celebration encompassed a range of activities, from multilingual singing and exploring family artifacts to the delightful sharing of diverse culinary creations. This created a heartwarming sense of community as everyone exchanged their unique stories and backgrounds.

Edmonton Christian West is a community of people from over 23 countries, representing 26 spoken languages, who united to form a rich and dynamic tapestry. Participants immersed themselves in the beauty of other cultures, guided by the melodious French tunes of Tabitha Tshibula, a Congolese-born singer, and her talented crew. Engaging activities such as painting Chinese characters, mastering chopsticks, and culminating in a global feast allowed students to truly hear, see, touch, taste, and experience the world with joy and wonder.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the interconnectedness of cultures within our global, Canadian, and Edmontonian communities. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all participants for contributing to the overwhelming success of this cultural extravaganza!
