High School Play: The Diviners. Tickets now on sale!

posted Nov 3, 2017, 10:09 AM by Fred Woudstra

Edmonton Christian High School is excited to present The Diviners by Jim Leonard Jr. on November 30, December 1 and 2 at the Cite Francophone Theatre, 8627 91 street, at 7:30 p.m.
The Diviners is set in the homes, fields and businesses of the mythical southern Indiana town of Zion, population forty. Zion is the home of Buddy, a diviner -- a young boy who has a sense and feel for water. And into Buddy’s life, and the life of the people of Zion, comes C.C. Showers, a “backslidin’ preacher” who, inadvertently and unintentionally, is also a “diviner” of sorts. We invite you into the hearts and homes of Zion, doubters and believers both -- people just like you and me.
Adults $15, Seniors and Students $10. Call the High School office at 780-408-7945 for tickets.

School Fees

posted Aug 29, 2017, 8:09 AM by Fred Woudstra   [ updated Sep 21, 2017, 9:43 AM ]

In spring 2017, the provincial government passed legislation that sets out what kind of fees schools can and cannot charge for. The changes take effect for the 2017-18 school year.

The fee sheets are detailed and include every fee that might be charged, for every grade. It is important to know that you may not have to pay for every item. Your school will tell you what your fees are in September and will also provide a detailed explanation of what the fee is for, in September.

Based on the changes from the province, your fees may be reduced, eliminated, or may not change at all.

The Priority Application date has now passed. We are accepting applications for some grades as space permits. Please contact us for details: 780-476-6281.

New families may apply for admission by completing an Application for Enrolment form either online or on paper. Application packages are available at all three of our schools. The Application must be supplemented by supporting documents including:

  • Edmonton Public Schools Registration form (K-12 applications only)
  • Copy of most recent report card (grades 1 - 12 applications only) for each student
  • Copy of birth certificate (if student born in Canada) or citizenship documents (if born outside of Canada) for each student (K-12 applications only)
  • $25 application fee (cash, credit card, cheque)
    • cheques payable to Edmonton Society for Christian Education (or ESCE)

For K -12 applications, admissions decisions are made and families are notified by April 25. However, mandatory information sessions are scheduled in March.

For Preschool applications, admissions decisions are made in early May for children who are four years old and after August 15 for children who are three years old. Applications are considered on a first apply, first admitted basis. Preschool applicants must also complete an Emergency Card and a Police Information Check.

Current Families (families with students currently in grades K-12 at Edmonton Christian Schools) can enrol students for next year beginning on March 13 by completing online forms on both Schoolzone and SEAS (our online enrolment system).

Preschool applications, however, are required for all preschool students including from current families. Current families receive priority for admission.

Current Families with New Students: If you already have students in Edmonton Christian Schools and wish to add a new student into Kindergarten, Preschool or a higher grade, you can do that on paper or on SEAS beginning March 13.
